The Arts at St. Paul's School for Girls cultivate the whole student, gradually building many kinds of literacy while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression.
This process requires not merely an active mind, but a trained one. A comprehensive arts education is essential to the development of a joyful student with global perspective.
Students gain powerful tools for understanding human experiences—both past and present— and learn to adapt to and respect others' ways of thinking, working, and expressing themselves.
They learn artistic modes of problem solving, which brings an array of expressive, analytical, and developmental tools to every human situation. Our students analyze nonverbal communication and make informed judgments about cultural matters. Our students are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings in a variety of modes, giving them a powerful repertoire of self-expression. The SPSG Arts Department coordinates with St. Paul's School to offer a sequential curriculum in Visual, Graphic and Manual Arts, Music, Dance, and Theatre. This includes IB and AP course opportunities.
