Is this the first step toward merging into one coed school?
Absolutely not. We are committed to offering the best of both worlds on a single campus, beginning with coeducational experiences in preschool through Lower School, followed by single-gender education through Middle School, culminating in a combination of single-gender and coeducational opportunities in the two Upper Schools.
Will students graduate from The St. Paul’s Schools?
No. Boys will continue to graduate from St. Paul’s School and girls will continue to graduate from St. Paul’s School for Girls.
Will each school continue their unique traditions, mascots, and colors?
Yes. Each school will maintain their unique brand identities, traditions, mascots, and colors.
Will the alumni traditions remain the same?
Yes, unless the alumni associations decide to change them in some manner.
Will the parent associations remain separate?
Yes, unless the associations decide to come together, at some point in the future.
How soon will the changes at the schools take place?
Any changes will be gradual and take place over time. They will be the result of thoughtful consideration by the new president and the leadership teams of each school, and will have one goal in mind: What is best for all of our students.
