Opioid dependency and the increasing availability of opioid analgesics have fueled this epidemic. Explore the symptoms, associated problems and natural course of this treatable illness, with psychiatrist Kenneth Stoller. The event is free of cost, but space is limited and advance registration is required through Johns Hopkins Medicine.

      Mr. Mark Rooney, a decade-long Taiko instructor, performer, and collanorator, will join us in Prayers this Friday, January 26. This performance includes the opportunity for volunteers to get up and try their hand at playing these BIG drums. Mr. Rooney will conduct a few workshops during the day.

      According to Mr. Rooney, Taiko is "the exchange of energy between a drummer and a drum, between a drummer and their fellow drummers, and between the drummers and anyone experiencing that drum." Meaning "Taiko players ARE their own instruments."
