Ereni Gleason Malfa '89 Announced as Incoming Head of School

On Friday, November 2, The St. Paul's Schools' Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Ereni Gleason Malfa '89 as the next Head of School at St. Paul's School for Girls. Ereni comes to SPSG from Roland Park Country School, where she has had an exemplary career as an administrator and faculty member. The Board unanimously supported the Search Committee's recommendation of Ereni following an extensive and comprehensive search process, and she will assume the role on July 1, 2019.

With the recent unification of the Boards of The St. Paul's Schools, Ereni arrives at an important moment for SPSG. She will join a soon-to-be-appointed President of The St. Paul's Schools and St. Paul's School Headmaster Dave Faus in a coordinated leadership team that will seek to capitalize on the exciting opportunities created by unification. While she is enthusiastic about the chance to help lead the Schools into the next era, as an SPSG alumna, she simultaneously is committed to preserving the girls' school's distinctive culture and traditions.

Ereni is a lifelong educator and school administrator with 24 years of distinguished service at RPCS, an independent school for girls in kindergarten through grade 12. She has served as Head of the Upper School since 2011, delivering remarkable results in that time. Among her accomplishments, she strengthened the curriculum, enhanced the visibility of the school, and introduced new programs including a STEM Institute and Foreign Language Certificate. Importantly, she has established a high level of cooperation with The Bryn Mawr School and Gilman School as the primary administrator responsible for facilitating tri-school coordination.

Looking ahead to next year, Ereni is "overjoyed to be returning home to SPSG." Over the coming months, SPSG will share more information about its incoming Head of School and host events to introduce Ereni and her family to the entire community.
