Head of School Penny Evins Shares Her Final Prayers Speech
On Monday morning, Head of School Penny Evins delivered her final Prayers speech to our community. She reflected upon the nearly 30 speeches she has given during her six years as our fearless leader and urged our community to continue spreading joy, acting with authenticity, being bold and courageous, and creating a warm, inclusive community for all who visit our school.
In turn, our community took the opportunity to surprise Mrs. Evins with a heartfelt tribute in appreciation of all she has done for SPSG. Students expressed their gratitude on behalf of the Middle and Upper School, and we presented her with a special box, created in our very own Class of 2017 MakerSpace, inscribed with a few of her favorite lessons and hopes for our Gators – shine your light, grow the good, be more awesome – and filled to the brim with hundreds of handwritten thank you notes from students, faculty, and staff. We are grateful and glad to have called Mrs. Evins our "Mama Gator." She will be missed.
