Covid-19 Information

• Illness: Please keep students home if they are showing symptoms of illness or are awaiting the results of a Covid test.
• Masking: Masks are optional but strongly encouraged for those returning after  after testing positive for Covid-19 (see Covid-Related Policies).
• Distance Learning: Students in quarantine or isolation will not have access to distance learning. They may receive work to complete at their own pace while at home.
• Extracurriculars: We currently do not have any restrictions on extracurricular activities, including Global Exchanges.
• Gatherings: Gatherings of all sizes are permissible, similar to pre-Covid activities. 

Core Prevention Strategies: 

• Stay up to date with immunizations 
  • Covid vaccination is encouraged but not required of students. Employees must be vaccinated unless they have been granted an exemption.
• Practice good hygiene (practices that improve cleanliness) 
• When a student or employee may have a respiratory virus:
  • Use precautions to prevent spread 
  • Seek health care promptly for testing and/or treatment if the student or employee has risk factors for severe illness; treatment may help lower the risk of severe illness

Isolation:

• A student or employee should stay home and away from others (including those in the household who are not sick) if they have respiratory virus symptoms that aren't better explained by another cause
• A student or employee can go back to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
  • Symptoms are getting better overall
  • Fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication like acetaminophen or ibuprofen
• Upon return to campus, a student or employee should take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as wearing a mask, washing hands more frequently, opening office windows, or physically distancing from others. This is especially important to protect people with factors that increase their risk of severe illness from respiratory viruses.
